Legal Requests & Complaints Policy
Review and Investigation Process
Peeptown reviews legal requests and complaints through a structured process designed to ensure that matters are evaluated fairly, consistently, and in accordance with applicable laws and Platform policies.
The review process may include the following stages:
9.1 Initial Assessment
Upon receiving a legal request or complaint, Peeptown may conduct an initial assessment to determine:
- whether the request contains sufficient information for review;
- whether the matter falls within Peeptown's responsibilities or applicable policies;
- whether additional information or documentation is required;
- whether the request involves potential legal, safety, privacy, or Platform integrity concerns.
Incomplete requests may be returned for additional information or may not proceed until sufficient details are provided.
9.2 Verification and Information Review
Where appropriate, Peeptown may review available information related to the reported matter, which may include:
- business profile information;
- user-submitted content;
- account activity;
- submitted documentation;
- publicly available information;
- communications relevant to the complaint; and
- information provided by the requester or affected parties.
Peeptown may contact the requester, business owner, account holder, or other relevant parties to obtain clarification or additional information.
9.3 Investigation
The scope and method of an investigation may vary depending on the nature and seriousness of the complaint. Peeptown may consider:
- the credibility and completeness of the information provided;
- applicable laws and regulations;
- potential harm to users, businesses, or the public;
- previous complaints or enforcement history where relevant;
- whether the reported activity violates Peeptown policies; and
- any response or explanation provided by affected parties.
Peeptown does not act as a court, legal authority, investigator for private disputes, or substitute for legal proceedings. Peeptown's review is limited to determining whether action may be appropriate on the Platform.
9.4 Review Outcome
After reviewing the available information, Peeptown may:
- determine that no action is required;
- request additional information;
- update or correct information where appropriate;
- restrict certain Platform features;
- remove or disable content or listings;
- suspend or terminate accounts or access where necessary;
- refer matters to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law; or
- take other measures consistent with applicable law and Platform policies.
Peeptown may not disclose all details of an investigation or enforcement decision where doing so could compromise privacy, security, legal obligations, or internal processes.
9.5 Processing Time
The time required to review a request depends on the complexity of the matter, the completeness of information provided, the need for additional verification, and the volume of requests being handled.
Urgent matters involving safety risks, legal obligations, or regulatory requirements may receive priority review where appropriate.
